Sustainability | Giving Back

Chez Vita was created with the purpose of benefitting the health of people and the planet.  As a business, we have a responsibility to do what we can to protect our planet and the people living on it. Now more than ever, it is essential that businesses operate in a way that regenerates our environment and society.

At Chez Vita we set our standards high to only work with suppliers who align with our values. It is so important for us that our products are made in an ethical, environmentally friendly way and that we are in control of the full supply chain. We are not a fast fashion brand, opting to make high quality and long-lasting products that are ethically sourced from sources close to our manufacturers. Our products are either manufactured here in Australia, or in southwest and eastern China where living standards are high and continually increasing. Imported products are shipped via sea freight as opposed to air to reduce our carbon footprint.  All suppliers hold documented certifications (quality, safety, ethics, economic efficiency) from external audits undertaken by TÜV Rheinland.

*TUV Rheinland is a leading global independent test provider with a history stretching back 140 years. The Group employs 16,000 people in 65 countries on all continents. The independent experts stand for quality, economic efficiency and safety in interacting with man, the environment and technology in nearly all industrial sectors and areas of life. In its role as an independent, neutral third party, TÜV Rheinland tests technical systems, products and services and supports projects and design processes for companies on the basis of recognized standards as well as statutory requirements.

All fabrics used in the Chez Vita collections are certified Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex.

OEKO-TEX® labels support you in acting responsibly and making sustainable purchasing decisions. The world’s leader in testing fabrics to regulate harmful substances, they make sure all garments are body friendly and contain no harmful chemicals.

Custom-made nylon/spandex blend fabric (both dyes and sublimation) fulfil requirements of the REACH test to ensure high fabric quality.

Organic cotton is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), an internationally recognised organic textile standard. Suppliers also support the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), which aims to transform cotton production worldwide by developing Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity. The Better Cotton Initiative exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future.

Materials are sourced from suppliers in Australia and overseas. All suppliers work in accordance with the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) including environmental sustainability. The BSCI code of conduct has 11 principles aimed at making the garment making industry a fair and safe place to work with transparent supply chains.

Sustainable Packaging

Chez Vita packaging is 100% sustainable. Clothing is wrapped in recycled kraft paper, which is a natural biodegradable material, and sent out in compostable mail bags. Yoga mats and blocks are sent in recycled cardboard boxes.

We strive to always consider the most environmentally friendly options as our core value, for the sake of our customers and our beautiful earth.

Giving Back

We have pledged to donate 1% of everything that we sell to Greening Australia, an environmental organisation working hard to protect, restore and conserve Australia’s native vegetation.

Simply by purchasing an item from Chez Vita, you are helping to care for this beautiful habitat. You buy, we give back. So thank you dear Chez Vita customer – together we are doing something really special.
